Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot off the Press: My KI Visa application, to enter the United States as the Fiance of the Red Dirt Girl, with the requirement of then marrying within 90 days of entry to the U.S.A. has been granted as of about 12 mid-day today.

Provisional date of flight is 14th October 2013, provisional date of wedding 24th October 2013.

I am the happiest person you can imagine, today, after all this time, there's not just a glimmer at the end of the tunnel, I'm out in the sunlight.

She's also the happiest person you can imagine, I phoned her at about 6:15 her a.m. to tell her the momentous news.

There'll be another post later.

Cue the Happy Dance!

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Mission accomplished! So the state grants you 90 days to woo your intended bride ...

    1. No. Pre-wooing is a requirement here.
That 90 days is the maximum time allowed before we marry.
It's plenty, we plan to do it in ten!

    1. You have me at a slight disadvantage here, as I've only got a suspicion of who Bilmo really is!

Thank you for the support. You'll be pleased to know that part of my plan includes shipping a geriatric land-rover to Texas.

    1. hahaha Dave ....
I don't think we can match the beauty of that service.
For us .... the local JP and my 3 kids in attendance.
I have the kids organized already. The youngest has the ring hidden somewhere in the house .... (I found it's safety proofed locked box in my closet last month, and he quickly intervened before I was able to start my safe breaking sequence of piling through 1000 possible number combinations).
The JP's clerk told me today that I cannot officially schedule the wedding until Soub and I have our marriage license in hand. Can I tell you how tired I am with governmental rules and regulations at this moment ????
Seriously, she said it will be about 15 minutes; timing shouldn't be a problem; and yes we can speak vows if we want to. They will 'work' with us.

This is such a happy moment. Words cannot truly express.

    2. Oh my! A machine-shop wedding.

      I shall be eternally jealous.
Just think.... You could have machined your wedding certificate into the face of a big chunk of billet!

The paperwork's not the important bit though, its the promises you make, and the commitment to each other.

We don't have a machine shop but maybe I can make pretend machine noises, would that suffice?

    3. I think I can remember the combination I set on the steel-lockbox I hid her ring in, so she couldn't see it before the day.
Might have to take a hammer and chisel, or a grinder, to the ceremony, just in case.

    4. That Davy cracks me up. You know he took the air-conditioning out of his car, right?
He said he released some triflorochlorowhatever1-2-3 "into the air, but putting it into the system in the first place was the real sin", and that he is teaching his son how to acheive a cooling effect by rolling down the windows.
He is beautiful man. Married in a machine shop.
I'm really happy for you two. I don't even know what to say, except...keep your air-conditioning...its too hot not to!

    1. Our happiness is radiating strongly.
Australia today, happy penguins in Antarctica tomorrow!
I expect Martians and Venusians to start smiling soon, for reasons they can't explain, as the wave of happiness spreads through the solar-system.

  9. I think that has already occurred, Soub...your happiness is a pandemic....highly contagious! :)

  10. Adding my congratulations. It seems like it has been so long waiting and hoping, it is almost unreal now. But it's not.
