I am the grit in the gears, the missing bolt, I am the poker of sticks into spokes. I like to know how things work, but sometimes when I take them apart and rebuild them, I have a few pieces left over. I am a man, so I tend to leave reading the instructions until after it goes wrong. And like all men I have a comprehensive mental map of the world and never need to ask directions. I never get lost, only sometimes I'm late, or end up in the wrong place entirely. It's what we do.

meddle... haven't heard that in a while, is that the album with "careful with that axe eugene" on it?
ReplyDelete"Careful With That Axe, Eugene" was on both Ummagumma, and Relics.
ReplyDeleteummagumma right, is it possible i was in some sort of haze back then?
ReplyDeletePurple? Haze?, no, no, no, that was Jimi...
ReplyDeleteUmmagumma was the album which set out on its back sleeve, the AWESOME power of a rock band.... All laid out like a fighter plane's armaments. Oh how we laugh now to see the pathetic pile of bits which would easily travel in a UPS van......
Nowadays nobody can go on tour without a fleet of trucks and trailers, tour buses, etc.

ReplyDelete"Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" gives a nod to Jimi, don't it?
