I am the grit in the gears, the missing bolt, I am the poker of sticks into spokes.
I like to know how things work, but sometimes when I take them apart and rebuild them, I have a few pieces left over.
I am a man, so I tend to leave reading the instructions until after it goes wrong.
And like all men I have a comprehensive mental map of the world and never need to ask directions.
I never get lost, only sometimes I'm late, or end up in the wrong place entirely.
It's what we do.
i haven't gotten to listen to this yet as I am at work, and the Water Baby ties up the internet at home like 24/7 but I do love Laurie....did she and peter Gabriel ever get the music Theme Park off the ground? Thats out there!
I love her vocoder usage in this video!! I had the pleasure of seeing Laurie perform and meeting her after the show a couple of years ago - she's an amazing lady! She was the artist in residence for NASA for a short time. Most of her show when I saw her was about her experience at NASA and living in post 9/11 New York. She played the electric violin so beautifully, I got chills.
