I am the grit in the gears, the missing bolt, I am the poker of sticks into spokes.
I like to know how things work, but sometimes when I take them apart and rebuild them, I have a few pieces left over.
I am a man, so I tend to leave reading the instructions until after it goes wrong.
And like all men I have a comprehensive mental map of the world and never need to ask directions.
I never get lost, only sometimes I'm late, or end up in the wrong place entirely.
It's what we do.
I had a Davy Crockett hat by the time I was five. And a gun that shot corks.
I would, back then, have been an enthusiastic pioneer. I'm a potter. People will need pots on the frontier, you know, so I'm assured of an income there, and the best thing? Wherever those miners dig, they dig up my raw materials for free! And British flags, well, would you rather have the Chinese ones?
It's hard to find anything these days that hasn't been made in China! It takes me double the time to do my grocery shopping these days...time spent reading the fine print!
I keep seeing tourist buses over here, made in China. KingLong is the maker... And now the firm that makes the iconic London taxi-cabs has been bought by a chinese manufacturer.
One of our tenants is a major importer of chinese-made kitchen goods, they supply several major supermarket chains.

ReplyDeleteCareful there ....

I'd like to see one of those! I'm curious how you guys managed to get an American flag to leak oil on the driveway.
ReplyDeleteFracking.
DeleteEven flags can be drained of their oils and gases if you try hard enough.
