I am the grit in the gears, the missing bolt, I am the poker of sticks into spokes.
I like to know how things work, but sometimes when I take them apart and rebuild them, I have a few pieces left over.
I am a man, so I tend to leave reading the instructions until after it goes wrong.
And like all men I have a comprehensive mental map of the world and never need to ask directions.
I never get lost, only sometimes I'm late, or end up in the wrong place entirely.
It's what we do.

I've Been Travelling
I've been away from home a few days, travelling on the most wonderful, futuristic automobile.
I only fell off about twenty-six times on the first day.
It's definitely pre-war, I'm pretty sure it's a Thorneycroft, built in Basingstoke, Hampshire. That big T on the radiator tells me so, but.. that's as far as I can go. I can't find any reference to this thing anywhere.
Indian? Don't be silly, look, there are seats on top.
Wow! Some vehicle. Looks pre war to me, about 1914 judging by the outfits. Fab vehicle!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were Indian.
